We received more information about Ruby today.  "The abandoned child Ling Cha Xuan, female, born on February 12, 2006, was abandoned at the gate of the elderly Home of Shangrao County on February 14, 2006, an on the same day she was brought to the Shangrao City Children's Welfare Center to be under our care and guardianship.  When the baby girl was found, there was a feeding bottle, half a pack of mild-based formula, and a dress beside her. "

The report goes on to say "Ling Cha Xuan lives under foster care with a family.  When she was one month old, she rarely opened her eyes.  Her sucking ability was strong.  When she was two months old, her eyes could see things clearly.  She especially liked to look at the toy animals on the rocking crib, and she could talk with 'ya ya' to herself.  When she was three months old, she had more activities than the last month.  The functions of her eyes and ears started to be in better coordination with her hand and leg movements.  Whenever she saw a novel thing or heard a sound, she could turn her head to look.  When she was four months old, she was interested in toys.  Sometimes she would also fight for toys with other children.  When she was being held to walk along the street, her eyes would be full of curios expressions.  When she was five to six months, her expressions developed further, and she especially like to smile.  When she saw strangers, she would also smile at them.  When she was seven months olds, she could site well with herself.  Pulled by both hands, could stand for a short while.  She could precisely grab a toy.  Her fingers were flexible.  She could use the toys she was holding in her hand to bang loudly on the table.  She could pass a toy from one hand to the other.  She could recognize the bright colors.  She could use her eyes to search for the things she needed."

We are still working on finalizing our travel plans, but it looks as though we are leaving Thursday, January 11.
